ITS NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!!!

Ive been neglecting my blog and its not good enough!!
since my last post ive been ona roler coaster and it seems to have just about come to a standstill so heres a recap
Wednesday was my last day at work so spent whole day going double time so as not to leave any loose ends for other people to deal with. Wednesday pm i did all the jobs i knew i wasnt going to be able to do this week so i cut the lawn i washed the cars i cut the hedge and took the dog for long walk which also served the purpose of tiring me out and allowing me to have a suprisingly good nights sleep.
Thursday am i got up and started to wibble!! didnt know what to do with myself only had a couple of hours to kill and i was nil by mouth so off i went with the dog again!
12 oclock i arrived at the private hospital and that was it it was a whirlwind until 2 pm when i went down to theatre in those two hours i saw thw surgeon the physio the anethatist the pharmacist and about 10 nurses!!! non stop!!!
2 oclock came and off to theatre where i was asleep in minutes next i knew i was waking up in recovery feeling very groggy but in no pain that i could feel
so off back to my room for a snooze then they fed and watered me and sent me home by 6pm armed with painkillers that i must take every 4 hrs for 3 days
rested all evening then off to bed for possibly the worst nights sleep ever
Friday i was fairly mobile and pain free just stiff sat and read in the sun all day ice on the knee to keep the swelling down
Friday night another terrible night sleep lots of pain and discomfort
saturday morning up and removed bandages and had a much needed shower covered small wounds with protective covers but i felt good and guess what? like a fool i did too much and ever since ive been in a fair amaount of pain and discomfort but i think it was just my body telling me to behave!!!!!
Sunday was very quiet and relaxing did nought and rested!

today i have done college work and posted it off to the tutor and alao sat and planned future races for this and next year

So theres plenty to look forward to so heres to a decent careful recovery
Diet been a little off but only cos im poorly!!! and us men are terrible when were poorly!

over the moon!!

Well im over the moon i weighed in last night at ww and it was cracking news 11st11 !!(2.5lb lost)
so only 11 lbs to go to my initial goal of 11 st then i may review it to 10st10 just so i can say im a gold member but it all depends how i feel about myself when i get to 11st
spoke to leader about the fact that i may be immobilised for a few weeks and she advised to drop 2 points per day until im active again and also to drop 1 due to the fact that im below 12st now!! yippee!!

so rest day today and operation tomorrow so not a lot to report
but ill be here over next few days just to get things off my chest the whole op thing is getting me down a bit so where better to leave those negative thoughtd than in cyber space!

Been a little busy!

been a bit busy over last few days-thursday friday and saturday involved work and sleep so nothing to report really i stuck to points just about through that period i did a 6 mile run thursday and cross trained sunday other wise i rested
sunday i also got involved in charity football match which was a giggle but not a pretty sight!! then celebrated after with lots of wine and a pub meal so feel i may have kicked the ass out of my hard work a bit
today i have reset and all is going well so far !
ill run long route home 12.5 miles then nice ww meal prepared by lovely wife to be!

only3 sleeps til knee operation and im bricking it!

ps i won the works weigh in this week 1lb off!

still rolling on

well i weighed in at ww last night and i lost half a pound-not much but in the right direction and it was an all important half as it took me under 12 stone for the first time in years!!
and boy was i happy!!
ran home from work yesterday was very hot but i enjoyed it took it real steady and felt good all the way home
some cross training tonight and then college work so not too excitin but hey these things have to be done

been a few days

well its been a few days so ill try think back
thursday i havent a clue what i did journal says i ate very well and training log says i ran 9 miles in blistering heat
friday was works weigh in where i lost 3 lb and took the lead in the challenge it was also a rest dayand i ate very wel (according to the journal)
saturday i did a small amount of cross training a large amount of house work and my fair share of diy so busy all round had friends round in the afternoon and ate abd drank too much but not too bad i dont think
sunday brought a 10 mile race which was to say the least warm!! it was a well organised event in lovely surroundings i realy enjoyed myself and bagged a pb to boot! sonew 10 mile pb is 85.28 av 8.30/mile very pleased with that topped sunday off with a roast at me mums which is always nice but very fattening
today has been hard as i was up at 5 and ive been peckish all day but i have behaved and ill try my best to continue til bed!!!!!!!!!

yippppeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well ww weigh in last night and yes oh yes oh yes i lost and i lost good 2.5lb off which takes me to the grand total of 5st2 off and a weight of 12 st on the nose !!!!!

i really need to keep this going im on such a high

also had a top run
1 mile warm up
4 miles av 8.14 min/ml
1 mile cool down

felt great
also decided to do a 10 mile race on sunday its local and last chance before knee op

A reasonable weekend on the flab front!

Well i usually struggle like hell at the weekend and fail myself miserably but this weekend seemed a different matter
i did eat things that i shouldnt but they were all accounted for in my daily points so im hopeful of a good weigh in on tuesday but all could change before then as i have 2 runs penciled in before weigh in and they can throw my weight all over the place!

exercise over the weekend was limited i missed my 4 mile speed session on friday pm as i didnt feel right saturday i managed some fairly intense cross training but was left feeling very tired and missed my long run on sunday but i will do that long run today so nothing lost really just some rest days gained!

work weigh in!

Ha d the friday morning weigh in at work the colleague i challenged to loose weight had lost 2 lb in the first week and i lost 1 this week was a bizarre weigh for me as i had gained which i really wasnt expecting only 1 pound but not sure why, my colleague also gained but as hes been out drinking 3 nights this week he was kind of expecting it!!
so its back to square one for me 20 lbs to loose before the GNR (1st oct) and 23.5 lbs for emlyn in the same time.

did 9.5 mile run home from work last night and boy was it hot nearly melted drank and drank and drank afterwards but think ive only just reached a decent level of hydration as ive started to wee 18 hrs later!!??!!

today is 4 mile speed session later when its cooled and best behaviour on the food front
tomorrow x train and eat well
sunday long run and eat well

Aint arf 'ot

My word its warm today i can hardly cope i feel so lethargic i could just drop off sat here at my desk drinking like a fish and still feel dry! fell bloated too but think thats the volume of fluids ive taken on this week and maybe some water retention going on due to running in extreme heat 2 days this week.
Diet wise im doing as i should and even said no to an ice cream last night how good am i????
did my cross training session last night bit warm for it though 32c in my garage even with the door open i think it had absorbed the heat all day and just would not cool down!
9.5 mile run home from work today nice steady 10.30 min miles

I knew it would catch up!

Wellit looks like the cream cakes and chinese have caught up i weighed in last night and stayed the same so not a total disaster but i was hoping for better
funny how we do that,we know we dont deserve to loose ,we know weve eaten too much or the wrong things yet we still expect the weight to drop off! we are a strange breed

Must pull my finger out now though as there are only 16 weigh ins left and 16.5 lbs to loose before my wedding

On the excersise front had a good couple of days on monday i ran 12 miles had to split it in to 2 runs due to the heat but 12 miles all the same
yesterday i ran 6 miles and included some 3/4 mile efforts and walk breaks due to the heat
today i will xtrain 6 miles on the eliptical trainer
6 x 3 min rounds on the punchbag
4-5 sets press ups to failure
bent over rows
bicep curls
looks like a long work out but not too bad cos i squeeze the weights in between the rounds on the bag

been a few days!

Well its been a few days - had a mare on friday and polished off cream cakes that were waved under my nose and try as i might i failed to resist and tucked in like a truffle pig! NOT GOOD !
Saturday was better and controlled during the day and sucummed to a chinese meal in the evening after the football but the plus is i didnt have any drink thats right i watched that appalling match...stone cold sober!!!!
sunday was damn hot so got up late fruit salad for brekkie late sunday roast and then we visited my other halfs gran which was fatal....she makes the most wonderful cakes and it would have been awfully rude to say no ! wouldnt it???

on the exercise front i did 9.5 mile plod on thursday pm which was good and followed it on friday pm with a short quick 3 miles. on saturday i cross trained and boxed and played with some weights and on sunday i rested

today i am eating well and will run after work when its cooled a little!
