HAPPY NEW YEAR

Well i may be shattered but i managed to run 32 miles in the last 4 days and hit my target of 1000 for 2006!!!!
friday ran home from work 6 miles in the dark and twisted my ankle!!
saturday gentle 4 miles ankle v sore-lots of ice!
Today i ran 16 miles on a sore ankle but i made the target and ran pb for 16 miles in the process!!
happy new running year and roll on new year diets!!

Miss Calculation!!!

AAAAARRRRGGGGGHHH!!!!!!
i cant believe ive miss calculated at the close of play yesterday i had myself convinced that i only had 19 miles left to go to get to 1000 miles this year but on reflection i sat down and did the sums again and i was 6 miles out!!!!
so ive had to re-access and see what i can cram in in the next 3 days to get me there!!
so the plan is
friday 6 miles
saturday 4 miles
sunday 16 miles
which fits in with the marathon plan but i would have prefered a rest day before the long run on sunday!
diet still poor
but feel quite good

Christmas update

Christmas eve brought i long run!! longer than planned infact !! i planned a route on the map only to find that a road that i planned to run was military access only!! so by the time id found a way round id done 15.5 miles and walked a mile to warm down.
Christmas day was a lazy day ate drank and was very merry!!
Boxing day was a 6 mile run but at a very steady pace which was very enjoyable but then i went on to eat and drink til i was just shy of puking!!
27th was a lazy day ate drank and watched dvds BLOODY MARVELOUS!!
today is back to work for half a day And then a 9.5 mile run home from work which will fire me up for another long one on sunday!!
and with any luck i will top 1000 miles for 2006!! which at one point seemed a big ask as i had almost 8 weeks off when i had my knee done

Diet wise i am guessing ive gained half a stone over the break but ill be back at it and rareing to go on the 2nd with a handful of new year goals!!

update

did 6 mile plod on wednesday and rested yesterday feeling pretty good
out for 7.5 mile marathon pace run tonight which felt good but shoes still seem to lack cushioning and bang me about!
diet is still a mare but running well
may do short run tomorrow
then 14 miles on sunday

Club run

Monday was a rest day so i did just that , although my legs were suprisingly pain free on monday after sundays race, i was dog tired so did nothing!
Tuesday night i went to the club for interval training did a warm up of about 2 miles followde by 3 x 1/2 mile efforts at 10k pace off 2 mins rest followed by a 2 mile warm down a real good session but cold and slippy!
the numbers 5.5 miles in 54.49 inc +/-8 mins rest

Diet still in freefall but trying to maintain current weight

quick round up

both friday and saturday were rest days (only sat was planned but legs sore after 9 mile club run on thursday!) so the only running since my last post was the race at longridge on sunday
which was a cracker of a run a real challenge first 4.5 miles up hill gradual at first then a shit of a climb half way the rest was downhill all the way
the weather was crap at the start it was lashing down but had dried up after 10 mins then by the time i reached the tough climb the sun was shining and i was steaming!!
so the numbers
7 miles 57.39 a new pb(it had to be as i never raced this distance before!!!)
but it was a good indicator for brass monkey as i managed a 8.14m/m av with bloody awful hills so i would like to hope i can do the same if not a little better at brass monkey!

Normal service resumed

normal service has resumed-have just got in from hard 9 mile club run which was dammed hard work but im glad i went
ive rested 3 days just to try shake off this shitty feeling that hasnt materialised as anything more than lethargy and a snotty nose still feel tired but better in myself just for getting out for a run-so heres the numbers
9 miles 1hr18.16 av 8.42m/m 1125 cals
bloody crazy pace to start with miles 1,2,3,4 all sub 8 min pace!!! then struggled to maintain 9 min pace for remainder

diet slightly better today but far from perfect

still feel glum!!
want to get on track but just not happening

busy

well ive been busy busy busy and to boot ive missed my first 'planned' run for ages ive been following a schedule i put together to build a base and to train for the brass monkey and been doing real well but work got on top of me yesterday so i had an extra rest day and i do feel better for it today but also feel guilty i hate missing runs for shit reasons like work!!!
diet still in freefall try as i might to sort myself out i keep filling my face with shit!!
not a happy shorty at the mo!!

good weekend!!

well despite the fact ive had to work all weekend its been a cracker!
i had a top race pace run yesterday 4 miles 32.09 so 8.03min/mile i felt well good could have gone on for another 5 i think!!!
and today i did a 12 mile lsr in 1.52.24 av 9.22min/mile good run but very windy so felt like id done twice as much!

as for eating i have LOTS say no more.

MAD MAD MAD

Work is mad mad mad !!! with my direct boss on hols and the chap who does the job i used to off too its bloody MAD ive been trying to juggle all three jobs and succeeding to an extenet but its gonna mean working all weekend!!

managed to squeeze club run in last night 6.75 mile in 61 mins av 9min/mile so good marathon paced run in the cold and wet again

DIET STILL SHIT HEARTS JUST NOT IN IT NEED TO SHAKE MYSELF AND TRY TO LOOSE A BIT/MAINTAIN BEFORE CHRISTMAS
then ill get my head into it in the new year and hit my target come hell or high water!!!

will do short half mara pace run tomorrow and 12 mile long one on sunday

cant promise anything on the diet front but i will try

one hell of a day!!

wednesday was one hell of a day, my feet never touched the ground from arriving at work at 730 to leaving at 630 i never stopped so today im shattered.
And all of that on jelly legs after tuesday nights club run which was intervals again
2 mile warm
4 x 600m off 3 min rest
2 mile jog back to the club
the intervals were just as difficult as last week but i did feel i was recovering quicker but the weather was something else!!!
gale force winds and rain the size of saucers!!i was frozen and now have an annoying cold!
diet wise not too good had pizza on tuesday after club and then succumed to a pork pie yesterday so naughty boy really!!

sunday long run

had a good long run yesterday apart from a little balls up near the end where the wind blew me sideways and i tripped over my feet and landed hard on my arm and shoulder which are now bruised and stiff
but 10.5 miles in 1.38.47 av9.25/mile it was a good run i enjoyed it apart from my knees/joints which seem to be taking a battering at the mo im slowly getting the message that its the shoes but i really cant afford more at the mo so ill have to plod on til i can

diet-well least said and all that!!!

update

club run on thursday pm was a 9.46 mile 84 min effort av 8.43/mile so far from the gentle run with the slow group !!!!! but it was a good run all the same but it has forced me to take a couple of rest days so friday was a lazy day with a meal out n the evening as it was the wifes work xmas doo so lovely meal pate followed by duck finished off with caramel and banana pie and half a bottle of chardonnay!! not ideal for the diet but a really nice well cooked meal
today will be another lazy day i may do a little cross training but either way ill be taking it easy
tommorow is long run day so i plan to do a 10 miler the long route back from work
also gonna pay attention to pace and try keep it down to +/-9.30m/m as i think im pushing too hard on my long runs
