4 Sleeps

only 4 sleeps to go which is getting scarily near now im like a cat on a hot tin roof really cant keep still or reason with myself
Eaten fairly well lots of pasta tuna and cereal so nothing really naughty just lots of the healthy ish stuff
just a quiet 2 mile plod tonight to turn the old legs over

Only 5 sleeps!!!!!

Well as far as the diet goes its been a bit difficult im trying to fill myself full of carbs and prepare myself for the marathon on sunday (at least thats my excuse abd im sticking to it -afterall beer=carbs!!)

But back to the only thing on my mind this week only 5 sleeps to go before the marathon!!!! and i cant wait-ive eaten,slept and breathed this marathon since the begining of the year and i just want to get on and do it now!

ps giving ww a miss-spoke to leader and she accepted that my body all to pot this week and next

Chin is up

well i admit i was been very grumpy and a little childish about the half pound weight gain! but ive said my apologies (i was very arsy with the other half-oops) and i am back in the zone apart from the chocolate biscuits i used to cheer myself up last evening - naughty naughty
so its back to pointing with a vengance and trying to maintain my energy levels for my training starting to feel i little run down and shit but egg assures me this is the bite in the tapers tail!
keep going on this weight loss journey is there an end?? i somehow doubt it!!

Least said !!!

Well weighed in last night and only just feel like i can talk about it !!
i somehow managed to put on half a pound - i was gutted i really dont get it i had three weeks where i didnt kill myself on the diet front and lost weight and as soon as i pull my finger out and get in the fame of mind i need to be in i put weight on !!
i really was ready for quitting but ive sorted my head out now and just have to accept that while im training so hard i cannot take weight loss as a given.
Rest day on the running front 7 miles tomorrow then rest til 10 miler on sunday

Weigh in Today!

Well its 'd'day i think ive done very well , couple of small glitches but hopefully the exercise should take care of that but we shall see at 630 ,im trying not to get too excited cos when i do that i usually end up dissapointed

Very Vert Tired

Well weekend was ok i behaved as well as i could on the diet front, other half made a turkey,sweetcoen anh ham pie from the ww cookbook which was splendid i really enjoyed that, then was good on sunday until i got to my mothers for sunday dinner two problems Mum struggles with the concept of low fat!!and i struggle not to eat too much of me mums sunday lunch !!! but im hoping the 17 mile long run yesterday am may hopefully negate a little of the food
Run was ok i felt very tired at the end but not too bad rest day today and maybe just a short plod tomorrow

still positive

Well friday night out was not good but it wasnt a complete disaster either, i had been careful with my food all day and went out with 8 points to see me through the evening which was always gonna be tough! but i did quite well only 4 pints lager and a chicken burger!! which by my standards is 75% less than i would have had in the old days!!
Anyway rest day again today last real long run tomorrow hope the weather is better or ill need webbed feet!

WOW im still going!

Wow im still going with this diet carry on and im feeling tops about it but i am heading for a fall cos going to the pub tonight but ive kept my points down today so im trying to limit the damage
Rest day on the running front ran home last night hard and fast as it was raining hard and i really wasnt dressed for it(shorts n tee)may rest tomorrow and save long run for sunday have to see how the head is after a couple of sherberts!!!!

Still on course

Well i still feel like the diet thing is under my skin and I CAN DO IT!
so thats a bonus, if i can maintain this mindset all weekend ill be on course for a reasonable week

Got a real bad headache today i think it must be the diet and exercise thing taken paracetamol and it seemed like they might do the trick but to no avail work is not good either stressful as hell really need a break
6 Mile run home today at pace i hope depends on the head

Well todays been a great start to the ww week i got up early and ran to work prior to breakfast, try burn a little fat, ive eaten cleanly and carefully and counted it all im feeling very positive about all of this so i hope ive turned the coener a little

no more excerise today just a nice meal and the champions league final for me i think

YIPEEE!!!!!!!

well i bit the bullet and went to the ww weigh in and was pleasently suprised i lost 1.5lb and i am back at my lowest weight which is all the drive i need i hope im very positive now and feel like im in the right frame of mind to get to 11st7lb this year as that was my target for the year and so far i havent been that succesful
but hopefully this is it im on the road to goal weight!!!
6 mile run home from work, off to eat now as my belly rumbing like mad

Feeling a little drained!

Well yesterdays long run was very hard work i got indegestion after 3 miles a stitch after 5 miles and hit what i can only pressume was "the wall" at 16 miles ish but i soldiered on and made it to 21 miles in a fairly presentable 3hr28 min average of 9.55
which i was quite proud of.
but the negatives that came from this i found quite scary it scared me that i have to go another 5 miles on top of this but some encouragement on the runnersworld forums has brought me back up and im feeling a little better about it now
i had maybe done too much over the week considering the half marathon pb last weekend but you live and learn less than 3 weeks to go so im a little nervy already but keep head down and keep plodding
On the diet front i feel quite positive still been avoiding the scale but feel like i may have had some success but it could just be all the effort yesterday thats depleted me a little

saturdays a nightmare

wel had a good run home from work last night very warm but took my time and felt ok had a reasonable day diet wise and felt good about myself then came saturday......

im stuck in a real quandry i need to fuel up for the long run tomorrow yet i need to try and squeeze it in to my points which i can do but i find myself picking at things cos my meals are set out for the day and there no room for straying but i guess the fact that im trying and i know theres a problem means at least im tring to control it.

Been a bit busy

well i let myself down testerday i missed a post i missed a meal and compensated with a chocolate biscuit need a virtual kick up the ass!!!(any offers)
The reason behind these slight lapses is once again work,After 2 customer audits in 3 days im a little burnt out and in need of the weekend
i am trying hard with the diet but finding it hard to adopt the right mind set im starting to think it really must be the marathon training thats is making me so bloody hungry and my runs are terrible if i dont fuel them properly
so i am trying but not worrying if it isnt the main priority until the marathon is over anyway turkey sandwich and oranges await so must crack on

What no ice cream??

afternoon all isnt it bloody lovely out im in a top mood just need an ice cream to finish off a lovely lunch-WW spaghetti on toast and 2 oranges-but no ice cream and no shop in the near area and NO NEED for it any way just have this alarm in my head that rings ice cream when its sunny but hey ho!!!

i Was very energetic this morning and ran in to work (6miles) which was hard work as i think i must have been running on empty but it also leaves me with the thought of having to run back home tonight which is ok but its hot and sunny and i havent had that ice cream!!

Another busy day...

Well today is going to be i long one we have a customer audit today which starts at 9 am and the auditer anticipates leaving a 6pm so 9 hours of systems grilling again !!
Not looking forward to it , im confident about what were doing but its very difficult to maintain that confidence when people are only here to try and trip you up but enough of the boring stuff....

No running yesterday hamstrings far too sore for that so spent evening relaxing long hot bath and a relaxing soak. then a wonderful home cooked meal (the other half did herself proud), salmon en croute with baked potatoes and veggies yum yum
Dieting would be easy if we had the time to spend cooking food like that every night but with work , running,netball (other half),gym and amateur dramatics our time is pretty limited

Leeds Half Marathon

Well 24hrs on and the half marathon in leeds is taking its toll , my legs are very sore and im aching from head to foot but other than that it was a real success i ran a personal best which was not intended and it didnt seem that hard either apart from the rain so now i have another target to beat 1:53:41

only problem was that shaky legs led me to macdonalds for lunch straight afterwards but i dont think i could have gone much further without something to eat

so here i go again back on the straight and narrow ,i weighed 12st11lbs last night and
think im gonna avoid the scales for 2 weeks and try give myself a chance, as i really seem to be pressurising myself ,not sure why though its all second nature ive been at it for so long just wish i knew why the wheels have fallen off recently?!?!

Im bored

well ive polished off my porridge and now sat watching saturday kitchen!! which isnt doing me any favors in fact making me very peckish.
Im resting and fueling up today before the half at leeds tomorrow resting is good but fueling up on a points budget is real boring but lovely other half is making salmon en croute from ww book later so at least got that to look forward to!
Also going to see a wedding photographer today (getting married end of october)so that should be fun

WELL HE,S BACK AND DISATER NEARLY STRUCK !!

My colleauge is back to work today and along with him he brought goodies mainly as a thankyou to our staff for there help during the recent trying times at work the list was terrible Porkpies, pastys, sausage rolls, party sausages etc etc etc
AAAArrrgh!!! So far i have managed to abstane from the goodies but im not sure how long i can manage this strengh of mind but i am deternined to not let this beat me !!

Managed a 7 mile run last night it started as a tempo run but the heat beat me at mile 3 and had to back off to marathon pace- no running today or maybe a short tester in the new shoes again then rest tomorrow before the Leeds half marathon on sunday.

Im off now to tuck in to my pre pointed sandwich and french fries(only 1 1/2 points)

Still been good!

well id like to think its becoming a habit again but this is the second day on the trot that ive got to lunch time and all is accounted for so well pleased with myself (big beaming smile)
It has helped that the colleague i share my office with has been off this week so no bad influence from him!
Went to see consultant about my knee this morning ,MRI shows no damage to the cartlige but it does show an arthritic mess around my knee cap so hes said i can run the marathon and then check in for keyhole surgery to tidy up in there at beginning of july then only light training for 6 weeks ish so really need to shift the blubber before then
anyway keep pointing ang plodding

slightly better so far today ......

Well things are looking up today ive been a good boy so far only pointed and counted items have passed my lips namely crumpets and honey for breakfast and banana on toast for lunch just about to follow that with an orange or two not sure about dinner yet but i promise it will be wholesome and counted !
rest day on the running front did 6 mile recovery run last night and legs feel slightly more like mine today tempo type session tomorrow i think
And lots more healthy foods etc before the weekend comes along and spoils it!

I SCIVED WW LAST NIGHT SO NO WEIGH IN - I COULDNT FACE IT FEEL ABOUT A STONE HEAVIER AFTER WEEKEND BODY ABUSE

......back to that long run.

back to the long run i mentioned earlier i ran 20.2 miles in 3:18.54 which gave an average of 9.50 mins per mile which is almost 20 seconds up on my predicted marathon pace for june i was over the moon with this run i ran on a hilly course with approx 4 miles of steep climbs it was a warm day and i could walk the day after!!
Having a slightly more gentle week this week as i'm running the leeds half marathon this sunday and im led to believe its quite tough/hilly

LEAST SAID SOONEST MENDED!!!!!

Well the bank holiday break went something like this -
Friday pm friends Birthday few beers and burger on way home (not good)
Sat am Hangover
Sat pm BBQ at mates house Drank nothing but ate like a horse(Not good at all)
Sun am Long run (very Good Ill come back to it)
Sun pm Went to friends to look at there wedding photos (lovely)and they fed us sunday dinner with all the trimmings an copious amounts of lager/wine(it gets worse)
Mon am After staying over with friends woke up to the smell of cooked breakfast which we devoured quickly (how dare i even post this)
Mon PM woke up early evening and ordered pizza just to finish off a terrible weekend of troughing.
