Well thats that!!
well ive been working hard and running long since december 31st and yesterday brought my final long slow run a tough 22 miler which i ran an out and back course to prepare me for the marathon course which is similar
It was hard and felt tough from the off but i have not run all week as ive been working so much and had a niggle in my hip (that at one point was stopping me lift my right leg!!!)
so i took it easy and apart from the usual 1st 15 mins i was never out of breath i tried hard to maintain a constant effort of 9.30m/m and managed very well apart from a couple of miles around 12-14 where i lost a bit so 3.29.48 with an av of 9.32m/m was really chuffed but have to say im suffering a bit today my hip hurts my foot hurts and the celebratory drinks (mates birthday) have made my bloody head hurt
so roll on taper now drop down to a more sensible 15 miles on saturday followed by a 10k trail race on sunday on top of the 2 club runs this week!
